History

The Beginning.

A team representing Kilsyth Football Club was formed in 1910 and affiliated with the Reporter District Football Association for the 1911 season.
The Association comprised of 2 sections (A & B). Section A teams participating are Blackburn (A), Burwood, Camberwell, Deepdene, Doncaster, Ringwood & Surrey Hills.
Section B teams participating are Blackburn (B), Box Hill, Croydon, East Burwood, Ferntree Gully, Kilsyth & Warrandyte. Kilsyth finish 5th (out of 7) with 3 wins and 9 loses.
For the 1912 season, Kilsyth and Croydon play as a combined team as Croydon-Kilsyth in Section B of the Reporter District Football Association.
For the 1913 season, Kilsyth became a separate entity and continue to play in the Reporter District Football Association. The Association went back to 1 Grade (A), other teams participating are Blackburn, Box Hill, East Burwood, Ferntree Gully, Kew, Mitcham, Ringwood & Warrandyte.
Kilsyth finish 8th (out of 9) with 2 wins and 14 loses. Kilsyth disband after the 1913 season.

The Return.

After a 8 year hiatus, Kilsyth return to playing football in 1922 combining with Montrose and participate in the Yarra Valley Football Association.
Other clubs participating are Healesville, Lilydale, Silvan, Wandin, Woori Yallock & Yarra Glen. Montrose-Kilsyth finish 5th (out of 7) with 5 wins and 7 losses.
In 1923 Montrose-Kilsyth finish 2nd (out of 5) after the home & away season. Montrose-Kilsyth (2nd) beat Yarra Glen (4th) in the 1st Semi Final 8.4.52 v 6.5.41, then lost to Healesville (3rd) in the Preliminary Final 8.10.58 v 8.12.60.
In 1924 Montrose-Kilsyth finish 4th (out of 7) after the home & Away season. Montrose-Kilsyth (4th) once again met Yarra Glen (2nd) in the 1st Semi Final, winning 75 v 45, advancing to the Grand Final. Montrose-Kilsyth (4th) lost to Lilydale (1st) in the Grand Final 6.15.51 v 9.14.68.

Club Formed.

In 1925 Kilsyth become a separate entity and the club adopt the red, white & blue jumper of the traditional Footscray design as the official club playing uniform and participate in the Scoresby District Football Association. Other clubs participating are Belgrave, East Burwood, Emerald, Ferntree Gully, Ferny Creek, Glen Waverley, Monbulk & Scoresby. Kilsyth finish 5th (out of 9) with 8 wins and 7 loses.

In 1926 Kilsyth finish minor Premiers (out of 9) with 14 wins and 2 loses. Kilsyth (1st) lost to Ferntree Gully (3rd) in the Semi Final 5.10.40 v 12.9.81, despite this, Kilsyth still advanced to the Grand Final as that’s how finals worked back then with the top team. Kilsyth lost the Grand Final to Ferntree Gully 3.10.28 v 9.10.64.

1927 Kilsyth join the new Ringwood District Football League, other clubs participating are Blackburn, Croydon, Doncaster, Ringwood, Vermont & Warrandyte.

Between 1927 and 1935 Kilsyth only made the finals once, that was in 1931. That year Kilsyth finish Minor Premiers (out of 11) with 15 wins and 1 loss. Kilsyth (1st) lost to Doncaster (2nd) in the 2nd Semi Final 5.6.36 v 8.21.69. Kilsyth then faced Ringwood in the Preliminary Final, losing 6.8.44 v 15.19.109.

Kilsyth then join the Belgrave District Football League in 1936, other clubs participating are Belgrave, Boronia, Emerald, Gembrook, Monbulk & Olinda.
Kilsyth finish Minor Premiers (out of 7) with 11 wins and 1 loss. Kilsyth (1st) lost to Boronia (2nd) in the 2nd Semi Final 9.11.65 v 13.15.93. Kilsyth then played Emerald (4th) in the Preliminary Final, winning 17.12.114 v 13.16.94 to advance to the Grand Final. Kilsyth lost to Boronia in the Grand Final 16.10.106 v 19.23.137.

In 1937 Kilsyth re-join the Ringwood District Football League and finish 4th (out of 10) after the home & away season. Kilsyth (4th) lost to Doncaster (3rd) in the 1st Semi Final 11.12.78 v 16.13.109.

First Premiership.

In 1938, Kilsyth coached by Jack Smith, win its first Premiership by defeating Boronia in one of the toughest games ever to be witnessed in the foothills district.
Kilsyth finish 2nd (out of 10) on the home & away ladder with 16 wins and 2 loses. The 2 loses were to Croydon by 5 points and Boronia by 3 points.
The finals Kilsyth (2nd) lose to Boronia (1st) in the 2nd Semi Final 7.9.51 v 12.10.82. Kilsyth then played and defeated Croydon (3rd) in the Preliminary Final 9.9.63 v 5.16.46 to advance to the Grand Final.
The Grand Final Kilsyth jump out of the blocks to lead by 16 points at 1/4 time 5.6.36 v 3.2.20.
The 2nd quarter Kilsyth dominated play but could only manage 1 goal 9 behinds for the quarter, whilst Boronia kicked 2 goals 1 behind. An inaccurate Kilsyth led by 18 points at 1/2 time having 21 shots at goal to 8. The scores at half time were 6.15.51 v 5.3.33.
The 3rd quarter Kilsyth continued to dominate the scoreboard, kicking 6 goals 2 behinds to Boronia 1 goal 3 behinds, to lead by 47 points at 3/4 time 12.17.89 v 6.6.42.
The final quarter saw Boronia dominate the scoreboard, kicking 4 goals 8 behinds to Kilsyth 2 goals 4 behinds, but it wasn't enough as Kilsyth ran out comfortable winners by 31 points. Final score Kilsyth 14.21.105 defeated Boronia 10.14.74.

Kilsyth were unable to make the finals from 1939 to 41, finishing 6th in all 3 seasons, before the league disbanded due to WWII.

Footy Returns.

Football returned to the area in 1945 after a 3 year hiatus, due to players off fighting the war. With WWII still going on in 1945 only 4 clubs participated, those clubs were Bayswater, Boronia, Croydon & Kilsyth. The league was named the Croydon Mail Football League. With only 4 teams, the top 2 teams at the end of the home & away season play off for the Premiership, Kilsyth finished 3rd.

History was created in 1946, when the club fielded two senior teams for the first time and in the same season adopted the current red & black jumpers as the club uniform. The club made the finals in 1946-47-48, but were unable to win a final. In 1949 the club finished 5th (out of 6).

Golden Era.

In 1950 the Croydon Mail Football League change their name to the Croydon-Ferntree Gully Football League.
The early 1950s was a very successful time for the club, playing in 5 Grand Finals in a row. Winning in 1950-51-52 then runners up in 53-54.

Lilydale finished top of the ladder in 1950, but lost both finals. Kilsyth (2nd) defeated Lilydale (1st) in the 2nd Semi Final by 54 points at Croydon Oval to advance to the Grand Final. Final score Kilsyth 14.11.95 defeated Lilydale 5.11.41. Kilsyth then met Croydon (3rd) in the Grand Final at Croydon Oval, winning by a thrilling 2 points. Final score Kilsyth 5.12.42 defeated Croydon 6.4.4 to claim their second Premiership, but first under the Croydon-Football League banner.

In 1951 capped off a remarkable season for the club, going undefeated in the home & away season winning 16 games. The club then won both finals to claim back to back Premierships. In the 2nd Semi Final, Kilsyth defeated East Ringwood at Lilydale Sports Oval by 10 points. Final score Kilsyth 6.13.49 defeated East Ringwood 5.9.39. Both sides met again in the Grand Final at Boronia Park with Kilsyth winning by 42 points. Final Score Kilsyth 15.15.105 defeated East Ringwood 8.15.63

In 1952 the club finished on top of the ladder, losing 1 game. They lost to Lilydale by 4 points in the final home & away game of the season (round 16).
In the 2nd Semi Final Kilsyth defeat East Ringwood at Croydon Oval by 28 points. Final Score Kilsyth 10.13.73 defeated East Ringwood 6.9.45. Both clubs met again in the Grand Final, at Boronia Park. Kilsyth proving to strong again winning by 14 points. Final Score Kilsyth 9.12.66 defeated East Ringwood 7.10.52 to claim a hat-trick of Premierships.

In 1953 The club finished 3rd with 13 wins. Kilsyth defeated Boronia in the 1st Semi Final (venue & scores i don't have). Kilsyth then met Ferntree Gully in the Preliminary Final at Boronia Park, winning by 2 points in a high scoring game. Final score Kilsyth 18.14.122 defeated Ferntree Gully 17.18.120. Once again it was a Kilsyth v East Ringwood Grand Final with East Ringwood turning the tables, winning by 18 points at Croydon Oval. Final score East Ringwood 14.9.93 defeated Kilsyth 11.9.75 to claim their 3rd premiership, but first under the Croydon-Ferntree Gully Football League banner.

In 1954 The club finished 4th with 12 wins, just 1 win ahead of 5th placed Ferntree Gully. The finals began with Kilsyth meeting Croydon at East Ringwood Reserve, with Kilsyth winning by 23 points. Final Score Kilsyth 18.5.113 defeated Croydon 13.12.90. Kilsyth defeated Boronia in the Preliminary Final (venue & scores i don't have). Kilsyth then met East Ringwood in the Grand Final once again, at Boronia Park. Kilsyth were no match for East Ringwood, losing by 53 points. Final Score East Ringwood 19.14.128 defeated Kilsyth 10.15.75 to claim back to back Premierships.

The rest of the 1950s Kilsyth made the finals in 1956 & 1958. 1956 losing the First Semi Final to Croydon at Boronia Park by 30 points. Final score Croydon 12.22.94 defeated Kilsyth 9.10.64. Then in 1958 with only 6 clubs competing, finishing 3rd. The First Semi Final Kilsyth defeat Ringwood at Croydon Oval by 19 points. Final score Kilsyth 9.19.73 defeated Ringwood 8.6.54. Kilsyth defeated Boronia in the Preliminary Final (venue & scores i don't have). The Grand Final was between the 2 dominate clubs of the early 1950s, Kilsyth and East Ringwood at it again. It was an inaccurate East Ringwood winning by 30 points at Croydon Oval. Final score East Ringwood 12.21.93 defeated Kilsyth 9.9.63.

Eastern Districts F.L.

In 1962 the league had another name change, this time to the Eastern Districts Football League. From 1962 to 1981, Kilsyth only made the finals in 4 seasons (1966, 70, 73 and 75).
1966 Kilsyth finished 4th after the home & away season with 13 wins, just 2 points ahead of 5th placed Scoresby. The 1st Semi Final Kilsyth defeat Croydon at Walker Park, Mitcham by 17 points. Final score Kilsyth 15.8.98 defeated Croydon 12.9.81 to claim their 1st finals win under the Eastern Districts Football League banner. The Preliminary Final Kilsyth took on powerhouse East Burwood, a team that has won the previous 3 Division 1 Premierships. East Burwood proving too strong defeating Kilsyth at Mitcham by 31 points. Final score East Burwood 15.17.107 defeated Kilsyth 10.16.76.

Kilsyth in 1970 finished 3rd with 12 wins. The First Semi Final Kilsyth lose to Mitcham at East Ringwood Reserve by 10 points. Final score Mitcham 11.13.79 defeated Kilsyth 9.15.69.

In 1973 with 13 wins, Kilsyth finished 3rd. The First Semi Final Kilsyth take on Surrey Hills at Mitcham. This is the only time these two clubs have met each other in a final.
Kilsyth won by 8 points, winning 12.15.87 to 12.7.79.

In 1974 the club finished last for the first time in their history, winning 5 games. The highlight of the season was the round 8 victory over Croydon at Croydon, winning 18.10.118 to 15.14.104. Croydon would go on to play finals.

In 1975 the club was in Division 2 for the first time in history. 3 clubs finished with 14 wins with % separating them. Mulgrave (128), Kilsyth (126) and Ferntree Gully (121). 4th place Ringwood finished with 12 wins and a % of 135. With all finals played at Lilydale Sports Oval, Mulgrave defeated Kilsyth in the 2nd Semi Final by 8 points 14.21.105 to 14.13.97.
The Preliminary Final, an accurate Kilsyth defeat an inaccurate Ringwood by 18 points 17.9.11 to 13.15.93.
The Grand Final had another thrilling contest between Mulgrave and Kilsyth, with Kilsyth winning by 8 points 17.16.118 to 16.14.110 to claim their first Division 2 premiership and 5th overall.

Back in Division 1, the club struggle for several years, 8th in 1976, 6th in 1977, last in 1978, 8th in Division 2 in 1979, 6th in 1980, then last again in 1981.

V.F.A Days.

Kilsyth made an ambitious move by joining the Victoria Football Association Division 2 in 1982. The club endured three seasons in Division 2 with very little success, finishing with a total on-field record of 9 wins and 43 losses. The highlight of the club’s time in the VFA was the achievement of captain-coach Russell Hodges in tying for first place in the voting for the 1982 Field Trophy. The club still intended to continue in the VFA in 1985, but it withdrew shortly before the season began and returned to the Eastern Districts Football League in 1985.

Return to Eastern Districts F.L.

Returning back to the Eastern Districts Football League Division 3 in 1985, Kilsyth struggled winning 2 games and finishing last.
Kilsyth spent the next 5 seasons in Division 4. 1988 the club finished 4th, but lost the 1st Semi Final to Nunawading at Tormore Reserve, Boronia 5.5.35 to 3.8.26.
1989 the club finished 2nd after the home & away season with 12 wins and 1 draw. Kilsyth lost the 2nd Semi Final to Bennetswood-Blackburn South by 26 points at Clayton Reserve 9.7.51 to 12.15.87. Kilsyth went into the Preliminary Final against Heathmont feeling confident, as Kilsyth had previously defeated Heathmont both times during the home & away season by 73 points and 49 points. However, it was Heathmont that won by 38 points at Clayton. Final score 15.12.102 to 9.10.64.

In 1990 Heathmont finished on top with 14 win and massive % of 194, Kilsyth, South Waverley Sandown and Rowville all finished with 10 wins. Kilsyth with the higher % finished 2nd after the home & away season. The 2nd Semi Final was played against Heathmont at Clayton. Heathmont had previously defeated Kilsyth both times during the home & away season by 39 points, and by 11 points. Heathmont again proved to strong winning the 2nd Semi Final at Clayton by 38 points 15.18.108 to 11.4.70.
The Preliminary Final against South Waverley Sandown was played at Clayton, with Kilsyth proving to strong winning by 60 points 13.8.86 to 3.8.26, advancing to the Grand Final.
Heathmont went into the Grand Final overwhelming favourites, however with a strong breeze at Clayton, it was Kilsyth that jumped out of the blocks leading at 1/4 time by 38 points 7.5 to 1.3. With the breeze in the 2nd quarter everyone expected Heathmont to strike back, but it was Kilsyth who scored the first goal. Both sides added 4 more goals for the quarter and it was Kilsyth leading at 1/2 time 35 points. The wind continued to be strong in the 3rd quarter and Kilsyth took full advantage, kicking another 6 goals to Heathmont's 2. Kilsyth led by a massive 60 points at 3/4 time 17.10 to 7.10. Wind or no wind, the margin was always going to be an uphill battle for Heathmont. Kilsyth ran out 50 point winners 21.10.136 to 12.14.86 to claim their first Division 4 Premiership, and 6th overall.

In 1991 Kilsyth finish the season in 5th spot with 9 wins and a draw.

Kilsyth were back in the finals in 1992, finishing in 4th spot after the home & away season with 10 wins. The 1st Semi Final was played against Warrandyte at Central Reserve, Glen Waverley. Kilsyth had previously defeated Warrandyte twice during the regular season by 33 points and 31 points. As a supporter i attended this game with my younger brother and we were both felt confident Kilsyth could win. It was one of the most remarkable games we've ever attended, and all for the wrong reasons. Kilsyth were totally outplayed for the whole game, losing by a massive 136 points. Final score 23.22.160 to 2.12.24.

In 1993 the club missed the finals by 4%. Forest Hill finish in 4th place with 12 wins and a % of 145, Kilsyth had 12 wins and a % of 141. The last game of the home & away season, Kilsyth defeated 2nd place The Basin by 2 points, however Forest Hill thrashed Templestowe by 126 points, to take 4th spot.

Kilsyth started the 1994 season with 6 wins in a row, before losing to Templestowe in round 7. After round 11, Kilsyth had won 9 lost 1 and had 1 draw. The club only won 3 out of the last 7 home & away games to finish in 3rd spot, 2 points ahead of 4th placed Doncaster East.
The Semi Final against Doncaster East was played at East Burwood Reserve with Doncaster East winning by 33 points. Final score 12.10.82 to 6.13.49.

In 1995 the club finished in 4th spot after the home & Away season with 13 wins, and once again the Semi Final was played against Doncaster East, this time at Tormore Reserve, Boronia. The game was close all day and with a few minutes remaining, Doncaster East hit the front by 1 point. Kilsyth managed to rush the ball out of the centre and a quick kick was marked by Chris Stevens about 30 metres directly in front. This was no easy kick as the wind was blowing a gale to the other end, thankfully the kick was straight and just made it over the line. As supporters watching, we weren’t sure if it was a goal or if it was touched on the line. The goal umpire signalled a goal and the Kilsyth faithful went into a frenzy. The siren sounded shortly after with Kilsyth sneaking home by 5 points. Final score Kilsyth 13.10.88 defeated Doncaster East 11.17.83.
The Preliminary Final Kilsyth took on Coldstream, and despite winning by 14 points, Kilsyth were always in control. Final score Kilsyth 12.19.91 defeated Coldstream 12.5.77.
The Grand Final Kilsyth took on Templestowe at Tormore Reserve, Boronia. Templestowe had only lost 2 games all season, but 1 of those was against Kilsyth, by 11 points.
Templestowe went into the game as overwhelming favourites, but it was Kilsyth that jumped out of the blocks with a 6 goal 1st quarter. At 1/4 time Kilsyth 6.1 to Templestowe 2.6. In the 2nd quarter Templestowe continually struggled to kick goals, adding 1.4 to Kilsyth 3.1 and at 1/2 time time it was Kilsyth leading by 28 points 9.2 to 3.10.
The 3rd quarter Templestowe still struggled to kick straight kicking 3.5 to Kilsyth 2.1 and at 3/4 time Kilsyth led by 18 points 11.3.69 to 6.15 51 with the game up for grabs.
The first goal of the last quarter was always going to be important, could Templestowe kick the first to put the pressure on, or can Kilsyth kick the first and make it a 4 goal game and make it real difficult for Templestowe. After a few minutes, it was Marko Ivanovic for Kilsyth that swooped on a loose ball, rode a bump and kicked a goal from about 40 metres out. This was quickly followed by a point to Stephen Letts. Templestowe then kicked the ball out from full back, where Stephen Letts took a mark about 50 metres out from goal. He quickly passed the ball to Gavin McNay, who took a strong mark between 2 Templestowe players 40 metres out directly in front and kicked truly for a goal. Another point quickly followed, the margin was 32 points. The ball was played end to end for several minutes before. Templestowe to a strong mark about 40 metres out, then received a 25 metre penalty and kicked a goal. The margin was back to 26 points, Kilsyth then kicked a point followed by another point. Then Darren Broussard for Kilsyth swooped on a loose ball then gave a handball to Stephen Letts who ran into an open goal. It was then Gavin George for Kilsyth that took a mark about 35 metres out, he was then tackled after it, and received a 25 metre penalty. He kicked another goal for Kilsyth and the lead had blown out to 40 points. Both sides added 1 more point each then the siren sounded, and it was Kilsyth winning by 40 points to claim their 1st Division 3 Premiership, and 7th overall. Final score Kilsyth 15.8.98 defeated Templestowe 7.16.58.

Back in Division 2 in 1996, Kilsyth played old rivals Croydon in round 1 at Kilsyth Recreation Reserve. It was the first time both teams had played each other since 1978. In a close game, Croydon came out winners by 10 points. Final score Croydon 15.7.97 defeated Kilsyth 13.9.87. The rest of the season was one to forget, several injuries to players week in week out, Kilsyth failed to win a game in the first 11 rounds. Their first win came in round 12 against North Ringwood at Quambee Reserve. Kilsyth went on to win 4 out of the last 7 games, but still finished last with 4 wins.

In 1997 Back in Division 3 Kilsyth finished 8th on the ladder with 6 wins.

Eastern Football League.

At the end of the 1997 season, after a year of negotiations, the EDFL and the KJFA merged and the Eastern Football League was formed.

From 1998 to 2002 Kilsyth failed to make the finals, finishing last in Division 3 in 2001 and 2002.

2003 the club finished 5th on the ladder with 8 wins and 8 losses..

Kilsyth were back in the finals in 2004, finishing in 4th spot after the home & away season with 11 wins. The 1st Semi Final was played against Whitehorse Pioneers at Tormore Reserve, Boronia. Kilsyth won the 1st Semi Final by 17 points. Final score Kilsyth 10.5.65 defeated Whitehorse Pioneers 7.6.48.
The Preliminary Final Kilsyth played Heathmont at Boronia, Heathmont ran out big winners by 79 points. Final score Heathmont 15.15.105 defeated Kilsyth 5.15.45.

From 2005 to 2008 Kilsyth failed to make the finals, finishing 6th, 8th, 8th and 8th again.

In 2009 the club made the finals, finishing 4th after the home & away season with 10 wins.
The elimination final was played at Ferntree Gully Reserve against Templestowe. Kilsyth won by 14 points. Final score Kilsyth 12.7.79 defeated Templestowe 9.11.65.
Kilsyth then beat Glen Waverley by 4 points at Ferntree Gully Reserve. Final score Kilsyth 12.11.83 defeated Glen Waverley 11.13.79.
Kilsyth then played The Basin in the Preliminary Final at Walker Park, Mitcham. It was a high scoring 1st quarter with The Basin leading by 13 points, 6.7 to 5.0.
Kilsyth failed to score a goal in the 2nd quarter, adding 1 point, whilst The Basin kicked another 5.3 to lead by 37 points. 1/2 time score The Basin 10.10.70 to Kilsyth 5.3.33.
By 3/4 time, Kilsyth managed to peg the margin back to 18 points by kicking 5.3 to The Basin 2.3. 3/4 time score The Basin 12.13.85 to Kilsyth 10.7.67.
The final quarter was all Kilsyth, kicking 7.6 to 0.4 to run out 26 point winners. Final score Kilsyth 17.13.115 defeated The Basin 12.17.89 to advance to the Grand Final.
The Grand Final against Chirnside Park was played at Mitcham, Kilsyth with the breeze started well to lead by 15 points. 1/4 time score Kilsyth 4.5.29 to Chirnside Park 2.2.14.
The 2nd quarter Chirnside Park took full advantage of the wind by kicking 6.6 to 2.2 and led by 13 points. 1/2 time score Chirnside Park 8.8.56 to Kilsyth 6.7.43.
With the breeze in the 3rd quarter, Kilsyth was unable to take any advantage. Kilsyth kicked 2.7 to Chirnside Park 2.4 and trailed by 10 points at 3/4 time.
It was all Chirnside Park in the final quarter kicking 8.7 to 0.1 to run out 64 point winners. Final score Chirnside Park 18.19.127 defeated Kilsyth 8.15.63.

In 2010 Kilsyth (runners up in Division 4 2009) provided the league with a request to take the position vacated by Nunawading, which was granted. Nunawading requesting to drop a Division, due to a lack of players. Kilsyth finished last with 2 wins.

Back in Division 4 Kilsyth struggled in 2011 and 2012 finishing 9th on the ladder both times.

In 2013 the club was back playing finals, finishing 5th after the home & away season with 9 wins. The elimination final against Forest Hill was played at Jubille Park, Ringwood. Forest Hill won by 22 points. Final score Forest Hill 13.8.86 defeated Kilsyth 9.10.64.

In 2014 the club finished 7th on the lader with 5 wins.

In 2015 the club finished the home & away season in 4th spot with 11 wins and 1 draw. The 1st Semi Final was played at Mitcham and it was Kilsyth winning by 7 points. Final score Kilsyth 11.8.74 defeated Coldstream 9.13.67.
The Preliminary Final, also played at Mitcham was against Forest Hill. Kilsyth won a low scoring game by 13 points. Final Score Kilsyth 6.12.48 defeated Forest Hill 5.5.35.
The Grand Final against Warandyte was played at Mitcham, it was a tight 1st quarter with Kilsyth leading 4.1.25 to Warrandyte 3.5.23.
Warrandyte started getting on top in the 2nd quarter and jumped to a 19 point lead. 1/2 time score Warrandyte 9.7.61 to Kilsyth 6.6.42.
The 3rd quarter was all Warrandyte, kicking 6.3 to 2.2 and led by 44 points. 3/4 time score Warrandyte 15.10 to Kilsyth 8.8.56.

From 2016 to 2021 Kilsyth failed to make the finals, finishing 5th, 5th, 5th, 8th and 6th.

In 2022 the club was back playing finals, finishing 4th after the home & away season with 8 wins. The First Semi Final against Chirnside Park was played at East Burwood Reserve with Chirnside Park winning by 24 points. Final score Chirnside Park 14.11.95 defeated Kilsyth 10.11.71.

In 2023 the club finished on top of the ladder after the home and away season for the first time since 1952. The Second Semi Final was against Surrey Park at East Ringwood Reserve. After a slow start, Kilsyth kicked 6.8 to 2.3 after half time to win by 12 points and advance to the Grand Final.
The Grand Final saw Kilsyth play Surrey Park at East Ringwood Reserve. Kilsyth started the better of the two clubs and led at 1/4 3.2 to 0.3.
The second quarter saw the ball mainly played in Surrey Park's forward half. Kilsyth still led at 1/2 time by 12 points as Surrey Park missed plenty of shots at goal. 1/2 time scores Kilsyth 5.3 to Surrey Park 2.9.
