The 1949 Croydon Mail Football League season was the 20th season of the Australian rules football competition. The Premiership was won by the Boronia Football Club, after it defeated Lilydale in the Grand Final by 11 points. It was Boronia's second premiership, and fourth club as a senior club. (They won the 1933 Premiership in the Mountain District Football Association and the 1936 Premiership in the Belgrave District Football League).
For Lilydale, this was their third Grand Final loss in a row.
